Straw drinking requires complex movement from the jaw, lips and tongue.
Through the coordination of these movements a vacuum draw is created. Each of our speech sounds are made with a different combination of these graded movements.

How did we get here?
Hello, I’m Ollwyn, the founder of CogniTherapeutics, which includes the COGNIKIDS® range of products.
My passion has always been about understanding the brain and body and supporting the healthy development of children. I trained in Infant Neurological Development and Early Education and have been building my experience for over 25 years, recently completing a Fellowship in Functional Developmental Behavioural NeuroImmunology in New York. I’m also a mum to two amazing boys, so I understand the deep love and motivation that comes with
parenthood, and the desire to give your children the best opportunities.
I therefore wanted to share my learnings to help other parents and carers. My eureka moment came in 2012 when I launched Creeper Crawlers®, which offered baby clothing that helped little ones get a grip on slippery floors so they could crawl safely and confidently.
In 2015, I decided to expand our offering and create a broader range of developmental products under the COGNIKIDS® brand. Since then we’ve added exciting and multi- award winning products to our range, supporting fine motor skills and independent feeding.
Now, in 2024, I’m delighted to share our new range of products. We’ve added more to the Motor Skills Section, but we’ve also introduced two new ranges called Nourish and Sensory & Bonding.
Throughout this journey, I’ve always remained committed to four core principles:
1 Always put babies first.
2 Develop products that support neurological development.
3 Ensure the highest safety and quality standards in everything we make.
